losing of control.. gradually
[11:05 PM on Saturday, February 25, 2006 ] after listening to the sermon today, feel that its good and wanna share with you guys. =)
Dan 1:1-7 In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to Jerusalem and besieged it. And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with part of the vessels of the house of God, which he carried into the land of Shinar to the house of his god. And he brought the vessels into the treasure house of his god.
And the king spoke to Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs that he should bring some of the sons of Israel, and of the king's seed, and of the rulers; sons in whom was no blemish, but who were handsome and skillful in all wisdom; and who had knowledge and understanding, even those who were able to stand in the king's palace, and to whom they might teach the writing and the language of the Chaldeans. And the king gave them the portion of a day in its day from the king's food, and the wine which he drank, even to rear them three years, so that at their end they might stand before the king.
And among them were four of the sons of Judah: Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, to whom the ruler of the eunuchs gave names. For he called Daniel, Belteshazzar; and Hananiah, Shadrach; and Mishael, Meshach; and Azariah, Abednego.
ok. its wordy. lemme summarise.
it says..
king of Babylon have taken over Jerusalem.
then the king asked for sons of Jerusalam, those that are perfect anywhere that kind one. and train them in their language. they were giving GOOD FOOD, GOOD WINE. for the whole of 3 years, so that they can be used to serve Babylon.
and their names were changed to dedicate to the babylonian gods.....
wondering why i capitalised the GOOD FOOD and GOOD WINE? because they are called temptation. good stuffs tempts right?? if i were to treat you starbucks or normal coffee, you'll comfirm choose starbucks right? because starbucks got that APPEAL, just like the good food.
and why that GOOD FOOD is bad? simple, my answer's gonna be short and sweet. because its offered to other gods. simple as that. imagine, swensen compared to food at cafe. tempting right?
what about GOOD WINE? same as good food, offered to gods. but there's something more to it, wine makes people get drunk and go HIGH. and when they get high, they lose their common sense and starts to do silly things. i remember my friend got drunk and starts to pour vodka into his fish pond. thats silly.
thats what the 'evil-one-of-the-world' is doing. tempts you things of this world; eg, pornographies(nyp girl), relationships, alchol, smoke, etc.. and so, that at the end of the day, you will ended up serving the babylonian king('evil-one-of-the-world').
